About WUMCAA’s Executive Council
WUMCAA’s Executive Council is comprised of a group of committed alumni who are passionate about WashU Medicine’s mission and strengthening its alumni community. Council members serve as advisers to the Office of Medical Advancement and ambassadors of the alumni community. Annual responsibilities include selecting alumni awardees to honor and allocating a portion of the medical annual fund to student organizations.
The Executive Council accepts applications year-round. Seats on the council typically open up in the spring, and all alumni are eligible to serve. A committee of current council members reviews interest forms to select alumni who will bring a diverse skill set to the council.
Council members serve with the knowledge that they help enhance the WashU Medicine student experience and help maintain WashU Medicine’s reputation as one of the top medical schools in the country. General expectation of members include:
- Support WashU Medicine’s mission
- Serve as an advocate for WashU Medicine within the greater community and toward prospective medical students
- Participate in alumni and WashU Medicine programs and promote engagement among alumni
- Participate in at least one committee or strikeforce team
- Volunteer at special events or with special projects as requested
- Support WashU Medicine philanthropically with a contribution at the Eliot Society level of $1,000 or more during the fiscal year (July 1-June 30)
