The School of Medicine welcomes alumni from class years ending in 3 and 8 to St. Louis and the Medical Campus for Celebration Weekend Friday, April 21 and Saturday, April 22.

Friday, April 21

Unless otherwise noted, events will take place in the Eric P. Newman Education Center (EPNEC) on the Medical Campus.

9:30 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. Legacy Curriculum Celebration
As WUSM prepares to graduate its final class educated under its Legacy Curriculum this spring, we will celebrate the curriculum’s impact on the current fourth-year class, faculty and alumni.

12:15 p.m. Lunch with the Class of 2023
Help us welcome the Class of 2023 into our alumni community during lunch.

1 – 1:30 p.m. WUSM Tours Depart & Bookstore Open
Join a student-led tour of the Medical Campus or stop by the WUSM Bookstore. Tours will leave EPNEC on an ongoing basis between 1-1:30 p.m. and last about an hour but can be shortened upon request. The bookstore is located on the ground floor of 4590 Nash Way (previously Children’s Place), across the circle drive from EPNEC. It closes at 4 p.m. and is not open on the weekend.

3 4 p.m. The Future of Medical Education
Hear from academic leaders about how WUSM is improving the future of medical education.

6 – 6:30 p.m. Welcome Reception
Join us at The Ritz-Carlton St. Louis for the evening’s celebrations. Enjoy light refreshments while checking in and re-connecting with former classmates.

6:30 p.m. Class of 1973 Dinner
Alumni celebrating their 50th reunion and their guests are invited to a dinner and ceremony celebrating the Class of 1973. Afterward, attendees are invited to join all alumni celebrating a reunion year at our Decades Party.

6:30 – 9:30 p.m. Decades Party
All alumni are invited to join us for a reception honoring class years ending in 3 and 8. Enjoy catching up with former classmates and professors, drinks and heavy hors d’oeuvres. Afterward, guests are invited to continue celebrating on their own in the Lobby Bar, which is open until 1 a.m.

Prior to the morning program’s enjoy breakfast with classmates while sharing stories from Friday. Breakfast service will be ongoing until 9:30 a.m.

9:30 -10:15 a.m. Dean’s Update & Alumni Award Presentation
David H. Perlmutter, MD, dean of the School of Medicine, will share highlights from the past year and future plans for the School of Medicine. Afterward, Dean Perlmutter and Ericka Hayes, MD ’98, president of the Washington University Medical Center Alumni Association, will present the 2023 Alumni Achievement Awards. Learn about advances in medicine at WUSM from a current faculty member.

11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Student Showcase
Enjoy refreshments and visit with members of WUSM student organizations to learn about their extra-curricular experience and how the alumni association’s annual fund has supported their initiatives.

12 p.m. WUSM Campus Tour
If you couldn’t join a tour Friday, join a student-led tour of the Medical Campus. Tours last about an hour but can be shortened upon request.

12:30 p.m. WUSM Donor Tour
Donors who give $5,000+ annually to the School of Medicine or Siteman Cancer Center are invited to join Steven Sobo, executive director of strategic projects, for a shuttle tour highlighting recent and coming capital improvements on the Medical Campus.

Getting Around

The Eric P. Newman Center (EPNEC) is located on the Medical Campus at 320 S. Euclid Ave., St. Louis, MO 63110. Parking will be available in the Metro garage, located at 4560 Nash Way, about a block from the center. Tickets for parking validation can be picked up at our check-in table.

The Ritz-Carlton St. Louis is located at 100 Carondelet Plaza; St. Louis, MO 63105.
Shuttle service will run during select hours between The Ritz and Medical Campus.
Complimentary event parking is available to attendees Friday night. Hotel guests will pay the rates listed above.

The DoubleTree Hilton at Forest Park is located at 4550 Forest Park Ave.; St. Louis, MO 63108, about 2 blocks from the medical campus and EPNEC.

Le Meridien is located in downtown Clayton at 7730 Bonhomme Ave.; Clayton, MO 63105. It is .3 miles from The Ritz. Le Meridien guests are invited to use the WUSM shuttles between The Ritz and medical campus.

Complimentary shuttles will be available on an ongoing basis between the Ritz and EPNEC on Friday from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. In addition, rideshare services Lyft and Uber operate in St. Louis.

Masking is strongly recommended in non-clinical areas. Masks continue to be required in all clinical spaces and in places where patients or patient visitors may be present including public spaces within clinical facilities, links between hospitals, and lobbies, elevators and waiting rooms in hospitals and clinics. For those taking the walking tour of the Medical Campus, please have a mask with you in case you should enter an area where they are still required.

Employees are required to be vaccinated, and vaccination is strongly encouraged for visitors. Should protocols change, they will be updated on campus websites and communicated with registrants.

Refund Policy

Should you have any symptoms of COVID-19 or feel unwell we will issue a full refund for all paid activities. Please email with your name and cancellation notice. Refunds will be processed as soon as possible, but within four weeks, to the card used to pay for your activities.
