Connect with fellow alumni while reading a variety of books and participating in virtual discussions surrounding topics of interest from our members, including medicine, health care, and professional development.

The WashU Medicine Alumni Association is excited to introduce the WashU Medicine Alumni Virtual Book Club! Join this free program and start connecting with fellow alumni through a love of reading and lifelong learning.

What is the program?

What is the WashU Medicine Alumni Virtual Book Club? The club will read one book every two months, covering topics of interest to our members, including medicine, health, science, and professional development. As a member of the club, you get the opportunity to vote on what book is read during each reading period. The book club will meet through a private online forum where alumni can discuss the current book and connect with each other. Books will take an average of nine hours to read cover to cover. If you have between one to two hours a week to read, you can effectively participate in the club.

Our October to December selection:

Atomic Habits: An Easy & Proven Way to Build Good Habits & Break Bad Ones
by James Clear

Why join?

By joining our book club, you will meet alumni from diverse industries and backgrounds and gain new perspectives. The network you will be building may help introduce you to new people and opportunities and provide additional resources on topics of interest.

What does it cost?

Participation is free for all WashU Medicine alumni. You are responsible for getting a copy of the book to read or listen to—consider borrowing from your local library.

How to participate?

Signing up is easy! All you have to do is create a free profile in our virtual community. After you complete the sign up, you will receive a link to the forum and you can begin to participate

Consider exploring other books by fellow WashU alumni

We have partnered with PBC Guru to manage the online book club. PBC Guru manages professional book clubs for companies and alumni associations and will be assisting us in moderating the group to help make this program a great experience for all participants.
